Where To Get Craft Supplies
Hi, I'm Libby, the Webmaster here for Peach Creek. Please note that the following links and references are my personal favorites and I am not connected to these companies in any way other than being an ocassional customer. I merely wish to share with you the places I've found and use to get craft supplies from, as I know how hard it is to find the good ones when you're just starting off. I'm listing what I consider to be the most used or sought after primitive crafting supplies. I'm also listing these sites on the Links page, be sure to visit them. I hope my personal references are a help to you!

Fabric - I think the most used fabric for prim crafting purposes would have to be Muslin fabric. You can get several different grades but I always like a good quality 100% unbleached muslin fabric. You can find this at your local Wal-Mart or other fabric stores. Try several types to see which one you like working with best. You can also purchase the pre-stained muslin fabric or stain your own. I'm listing instructions on how to do this on the Crafts page. And no prim item is complete without Homespun! Look around for fat quarters or buy a few yards in various colors. Another popular option is to purchase some red or blue stipe ticking fabric. This is actually the old time heavy cotton canvas fabric that was used to make pillows and matresses. A must for some of your prim make-do's!

Cookie Cutters - The best place I've found on the net to purchase cookie cutters is Foose Cookie Cutters! I love their ease of order, fast shipping, quality cutters, and service! Always a pleasure to shop with them. Of course you can also get cutters from craft stores and the like, but if you want to find those special shapes or themes, go to Foose. They have over 700 different cookie cutters! Click here!

Unpainted Wood Items - Most crafters like making items from wood when possible. There are lamps, trees, candle boxes and the list goes on for wood items. And I've found one very talented person who does just that! I found him while looking for stamp blocks for my unmounted stamps. When I received the blocks and saw what excellent work he done, I was amazed. I shortly found he also makes other wood items. The prim wash board pic on the Craft page is one of his items. Just love that one! He offers various wood items, even adorable soap crates if you're into soap making. Can also be used for other crafts. You'll just have to visit his site yourself! He is Landfill Lumber and makes all his items from rescued wood. Has a great cause too! We should all support that!

Patterns - If you're looking for those beautiful primitive patterns to make all those wonderful prims, then Pattern Mart is the place to go! They have such wonderful talented artist that sell their patterns there. A very hugh selection and you can find almost anything. Quilting, Knitting, Stitchery, Rug Hooking, Crochet, and craft supplies. A must see, give them a visit! Pattern Mart - Click Here!

Rusty Tin Items - What is prim without some rusty items? Bells, keys, pins, wire, garland, you name it. The place to go is RustyTin.com. They also sell other crafting needs so be sure and visit them. You'll get fast, friendly service, and quality items! Click Here!

Wax and Scents - If in our local area and need some wax quick, you'll want to visit the Tri-State Candlemaking Supply, Chapmanville store. Located right off the 4 Lane at the Caney Branch exit, make left at stop sign, they're in first bldg. You can also shop with them online. Click Here! Another great place to get your wax and supplies is from Starla's Candle Making. They're located in OH. They also give free candle making instructions on their web site and you can order from there. They're known as "wicks-wax-scents" on the web. A wonderful site full of helpful information and Starla & Lisa are very talented! They also sell scented wax so you don't have to fuss with adding the scents. Click Here! All these links can also be found on the Links page.

Other Needful Everyday Supplies - I'm mentioning everyday household supplies you'll want to get for your prim crafting needs. Most of these supplies can be found cheap at your local Family Dollar or Dollar General Stores. Here are some basics to look for: Apple Cider Vinegar, Table Salt, Ground Cinnamon (and other spices), Unbleached Flour (the kind that isn't self-rising), Hydrogen Peroxide, Wax Paper, Foil, 100% Silicone Caulking- Clear only, Jute Twine, Various Size Manila Shipping Tags, Spray Bottle, Plastic Trays and Containers, Alcohol, Multi-Purpose Latex Gloves, Instant Coffee, Tea Bags, Applesauce, Arlene's Tacky Glue (at Wal-Mart), Fabric Paints (Wal-Mart), Vanilla Flavoring, Zip Freezer Bags, Zip Sandwich Bags, Sponge Paint Brushes, Plastic Spoons, Polyfill Polyfiber (Wal-Mart), Painter's Masks, Play Sand (Lowe's), Plastic and Glass Large Measuring Cups, and plenty paper towels and newspapers. You probably already have most of these items in your home. Just make a list of items you'll need to purchase for the craft project you're working on. Supplies needed are listed in each craft instruction from the Craft page. If you'll stock up on a few of these things, a little here and a little there, you'll find they add up quick and you'll be stocked up in no time. Also, if making candle or soap items, keep your eye open at your local flea market. You'll find a lot of old pans and such that can be used for working your wax or soaps, or maybe just for prim decor.
